Project Overview
The largest of the three installations, and the one that needed the most engineering before a single panel went up. Rather than load the existing tiled roofs, the array sits on a purpose-built galvanised steel canopy raised on concrete footings over the compound’s garden gazebo — the structure does double duty as shade, and the panels are pitched for optimal yield rather than being forced to follow an existing roof angle. Access for cleaning and inspection is from underneath, so no one needs to walk on the modules. Generation feeds a bank of four Deye hybrid inverters housed in a purpose-built plant room, with TAICO lithium batteries lining both walls. Running multiple inverters in parallel rather than one large unit gives redundancy: if one is taken offline for service, the rest carry the load. Each inverter has its own DC isolator and breaker set, and the whole array is tied into a central control panel. The system covers the property’s full load with storage sized to carry it through the night and through grid outages, which at this location are frequent enough to have been the main reason for the investment.
